On the undercard of the show at the Barclaycard Arena, in Birmingham, Kal Yafai continued his progress by claiming the British super-flyweight title.
Matched against Jason Cunningham, Yafai totally dominated the fight with two of the three fighters giving the Birmingham fighter every round, whist the other judge gave the Doncaster fighter just a solitary round.
Twenty-six year old Yafai dominated from the start and built up a hefty points lead early on. In the fifth Cunningham was rocked by a right hand proceeded by two hooks.
In the sixth round Cunningham was caught by a left to the back of the head and hit the canvas. The Doncaster fighter beat the count but, quite rightly, complained it was an illegal punch.
Despite the fight being so one-sided, Cunningham held on in there and did hear the final bell.
In winning the British super-flyweight title Yafai takes his record to 17-0 whilst Cunningham?s drops to 17-3.
