Over in California tonight, Andre Ward makes his long awaited return to the ring after fourteen months out with injury.

His opponent is the undefeated Edwin Rodriguez who has a real chance to make a name for himself by being the first to beat the American fighter.

But, at the weigh-in it transpires that Rodriguez failed to meet the agreed weight coming in two pounds heavier that contracted to do so.

In coming in two pounds over the 170 pound limit, Rodriguez has forfeited in any chance of taking Ward?s WBA title and will also forfeit 20% of his purse which was originally $1 million.

Whilst as a spectator I feel somewhat robbed, the only person who can be happy with the situation is Andre Ward who goes into the fight knowing he cannot lose his title and that due to Rodriguez?s failings, will also receive an extra $100,000.

Like the title says, Edwin Rodriguez, words fail me!
