With Vitali Klitschko having announced he?d retired from boxing to concentrate on his political career, I had hoped that his retirement would have opened up the division for some of the younger stars to burst to the forefront.

On a personal level I?d hoped this would be the springboard for Deontay Wilder to grasp the vacant title and then American boxing would have the rejuvenation, at heavyweight level the country craves.

But it may not be about to happen like that with Vitali?s brother, Wladimir, remarking in the German newspaper, Bild, that he wants to unify the wold titles and add his brothers WBC belt to his own WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO titles, remarking,

‘It is obviously my aim to bring the WBC title back into the Klitschko family.?

Now that would be my worst nightmare!
