Over in Moscow, Wladimir Klitschko, as many suspected he would, made yet another successful defence of his WBA, IBF and WBO world titles by beating his Russian challenger Alexander Povetkin.

Povetkin entered the contest with an unbeaten record but simply didn?t have enough to cause the 37 year-old Ukrainian too much trouble.

In fact the challenger was dumped on his backside four times, by Klitschko, as the Ukrainian ran out a very comfortable points winner by a margin of 119-104.

Klitschko has now made fifteen successful defences in his second spell as a champion and, as always seems to be the case, had a few kind words to say about his beaten opponent remarking,

?He was a tough bit of work. It was a deserved win but I can still improve.?

I?m beginning to wonder if there is anybody out there, currently, who can beat Wladimir, too be honest I yearn for the days when the heavyweight division is more competitive at the top level.
