With the heavyweight scene starting to freshen up following the retirement of a certain Klitschko, the path is opening up to superstardom for one of my highly fancied fighters.

It has been announced that on 15th March, on the undercard of the Danny Garcia v Mauricio fight, Deontay Wilder will take on Malik Scott in an official eliminator for the WBC heavyweight title.

Big punching Wilder, defending an unbeaten record of 30-0 with all 30 coming by way of knockout, should have the beating of Malik Scott, defending a record of 36-1-1, with the blemish on his record coming when he locked horns with our own Dereck Chisora.

But, more importantly for Wilder, if he (as we expect) blasts Scot aside, it set up a WBC world title fight against the winner of the Bemane Stiverne v Chris Arreola for the vacant tile.

Here at Vital Boxing we reckon it is a case of cometh the hour cometh the man.
