With our own IBF world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, set to defend his title against Wladimir Klitschko, at Wembley Stadium in April, we could also be set to see another huge heavyweight world title fight.
Deontay Wilder, the reigning WBC word heavyweight title holder is on the comeback trail after injuring his arm and hand in his last fight. The knockout specialist is set to make a defence of his crown against the Polish fighter Andrzej Wawrzyk on February 25th.
If Wilder can get the Polish fighter out of the way early, it seems that the American fighter wants to take on the new WBO heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker, in a unification match, with Wilder remarking to the media,
?If all goes well with this fight I have in February, I have no injuries and my hand is healed and can take 100 per cent impact on it as well, then I want that fight (Parker) next.
?They are talking about fighting in April and I?d love to come back and fight again in April!?
And then, just perhaps, we can see the winner of Wilder v Parker take on the winner of Joshua v Klitschko.
Interesting times.
