Tonight, at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, Deontay Wilder makes a welcome return to the ring.

Wilder, who has now recovered from the arm and hand surgery he had, is set to make a defence of his WBC heavyweight crown, taking on the undefeated contender Gerald Washington.

Washington has threatened to spring a surprise and rip the title from the champion.

At the official weigh-in Wilder, who has a record that read 37-0 with 36 wins coming by way of knockout, weighed in at 222 pounds, whereas Washington, who has a record that reads 18-0-1 with 12 wins coming by knockout, weighed in at 239 pounds.

Wilder has ambitions of unifying the heavyweight division and here at Vital Boxing we can?t see those ambitions being hated by Washington.

Our verdict is a stoppage in the fifth or sixth rounds with Wilder being the victor.
