This time next week the countdown will have well and truly started for the titanic WBC heavyweight showdown between Deontay Wilder and the champion Bermane Stiverne.

Here in the editorial seat at Vital Boxing, I?m not maintaining any impartiality with regards to the outcome of this fight, my hat is firmly in the Wilder camp, boxing needs a charismatic American heavyweight champ and Wilder is that man.

As the countdown to the big fight hits seven days, Wilder is, once again, proving to be the more entertaining boxer when it comes to the verbal sparring that precedes such a huge fight.

The American with 32 straight knockouts to his name isn?t scared to tell the world what he is going to do to the champion with his latest outburst reading,

?I really want to hurt him.

?Either you?re going to get him or he?s going to get you. He?s going to go. There?s been a lot of words about me and my opponent. He?s a boxer, I?m a boxer. Why is no one talking about him? I think this is going to be an eye sparkler for a lot of people. I?m not afraid to talk because I can back it up.?

Does anyone else get the impression this one is going to be short, sharp but very sweet?
