With Wladimir Klitschko having retired from boxing, there will be no re-match with Anthony Joshua.

However, the heavyweight division is still very much alive.

Whilst we wait for news of who AJ?s next opponent will be, there are plans being made across the pond for a huge heavyweight clash to take place.

It?s being reported that steps are being taken to match the WBC champion Deontay Wilder with the WBA mandatory challenger Luis Ortiz.

Wilder has often been accused of ducking quality opponents in his career but in facing Ortiz he would be going up against another unbeaten fighter.

Although Wilder?s mandatory challenger, for his WBC belt, is Bermane Stiverne who is reluctant to step aside, it?s being reported that steps are being taken by the WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman, to smooth the path for Wilder and Ortiz to meet in the ring.

As for a possible date and venue, November 4th in Brooklyn, is being suggested.

We wait with baited breath.
