The heavyweight scene is alive again now that Deontay Wilder is the WBC heavyweight champion.

The big-punching American has re-ignited America?s interest in a division in which they once dominated but slipped from grace in recent times.

Since taking the WBC version of the title off of Bermane Silverne, Wilder hasn?t been slow in calling out various other fighters who he wants to take on.

One of these, as we?ve reported before is our very own Tyson Fury.

Fury, a mandatory challenger for one of the versions of the belt Wladimir Klitschko holds, is keen to take on the American but all in good time as he waits for the chance to snatch the IBF / IBO / WBA / WBO belts from the Ukrainian.

But Wilder is persisting with the talk and is clearly trying to get Fury in the ring sooner rather than later.

His latest ploy is to suggest he will knock Tyson Fury clean out, remarking to the media,

?I think the world wants to see the Fury fight, and the Klitschko fight comes right behind it,

?I would knock him out. Even when the little guys tag him, he falls.?

Wilder may have a point there, when tagged Fury has looked a little unsteady on his feet but will the war of words tempt Fury into the ring any time soon?
