Over in Atlantic City last night, at the Boardwalk Hall, Deontay Wilder moved a step closer to a fight with one of the Klitschko brothers.

The explosive punching American extended his run to 30-0 with all 30 coming by way of a knockout, by demolishing his latest opponent Nicolai Firtha.

Cheered on by a vociferous crowd that acknowledged that every punch Wilder threw was laced with serious intent, the American hope finished off his opponent in the fourth round.

So ferocious was Wilder?s punching that he had Firtha on the canvas four times. The first two knockdowns came in the opening round and many expected Wilder to record another first round win.

However, Firtha proved to be a gutsy fighter getting to his feet and managing to get to round three before being floored with another huge punch. Although, once again he beat the ****, he wasn?t so lucky in round four when a devastating right hand saw Firtha floored again and the referee stepped in to halt the contest.

It remains to be seen who Wilder is matched with next as he closes in on a world title fight but the big question remains, how soon can he get one of the Klitschko?s in the ring with him?
