Ahead of the build-up to the huge clash between Joshua and Klitschko, a fight that delivered, we witnessed an exchange of views between Deontay Wilder and Tony Bellew, at the weigh-in.
Bellew, at the aforementioned weigh-in, seemed intent on riling Wilder enough to get a crack, sometime in the future, against the WBC world heavyweight title holder.
After beating David Haye, Bellew has ambitions of becoming a world heavyweight title holder. He?s already stated he?s not interested in fighting the much-bigger Joshua whilst continuing to eye a challenge for a title against Wilder.
Following the fight on Saturday evening, the banter between the two fighters continued, both trying their utmost to lure the other into badgering their management teams to get the contracts prepared.
Now we?re at the stage where Wilder?s promoter, Dibella, wants Eddie Hearn to contact him with regards to starting talks.
Whether Hearn will remains to be seen.
But with Wilder eyeing a big unification clash with Joshua, perhaps the idea of taking on Bellew is seen by Wilder?s camp as something that would crank up the interest in a unification fight, on both sides of the pond, between Wilder and Joshua.
We can but wait and see.
