This Saturday, in the US, Deontay Wilder defends the WBC version of the World Heavyweight title.

The ?Bronze Bomber? who has knocked out all but one of his opponents faces the Cuban fighter, Luis Ortiz.

Ortiz is expected to give Wilder a tougher fight than many of his recent opponents have.

However, Wilder appears intent on chasing Anthony Joshua for the unification clash all boxing fans want to see.

Ahead of his bout with Ortiz, Wilder has taken the opportunity to goad the Joshua camp with a few barbed verbal insults.

Wilder, obviously trying to get at the Joshua camp is quoted as having remarked,

‘I don’t believe Hearn wants this fight at all.

‘We’re ready on this side of the pond.

‘Joshua is like a cow, Eddie Hearn is milking him for every dollar. There have been no negotiations at all, no deal has been offered. But the world wants to see me and Joshua get in the ring.’

Naturally, the verbal attack brought a response form Joshua?s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who responded with,

‘It’s the biggest fight in world boxing… and I always make the biggest fights possible.

‘Anthony will fight anyone and, as we have stated a thousand times, he wants to be the undisputed champion.

‘If he beats Joseph Parker then he just needs one more belt. Wilder doesn’t have a promoter so is on a one-man salesman mission – get your head on Ortiz, let us deal with Parker then join us back in the real world and this fight will get made very quickly.’

It is the fight everybody wants to see and will produce a unified world heavyweight champion,
something the division has lacked for many years, but Hearn also had a warning shot to fire across Wilder?s bows when he further added,

‘Deontay Wilder has tried to sell his whole fight on Anthony Joshua – he should worry about Luis Ortiz.?

Now that would really upset the apple-cart if Ortiz were to beat Wilder wouldn?t it!
