America, viewed as the natural home of the heavyweight champions, now has the next heavyweight champion of the word in waiting.

Last night, at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez, Bayamon, in Puerto Rico, Malik Scott, with a record of 36-2-1, was supposed to provide the big punching heavyweight with his sternest test so far, after all Malik had given our own Dereck Chisora a stern test before being controversially stopped.

But Wilder, who had demolished all 30 of his previous opponents, hadn?t read the script and produced the devastating one punch finish that is fast becoming his trademark by stopping his opponent in the opening round.

With his record now standing at 31-0, with all 31 coming by way of knockout, Wilder is fast becoming big box-office and it would be no surprise at all if this six feet seven inch power-puncher was the heavyweight champion of the world very shortly!
