Earlier this week Eddie Hearn confirmed that the two rising young stars of the British heavyweight scene will meet other towards the end of the year.
Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte are expected to be matched against each other in either November or December.
Both are currently unbeaten with Joshua having a record that reads 13-0 with all 13 coming by way of knockout and Whyte having a record that reads 14-0 with 11 coming by way of knockout.
The duo have met before, in the amateur ranks, with Whyte recording the victory. Since then there has been a degree of animosity between the two with Whyte desperate to get in the ring with Joshua, who he feels has been grabbing more than his fair share of the limelight.
Throw into the mixer the fact that Whyte had an enforced break from the ring and wants to make up for lost time, only adds to the thrill of it all.
But it appears peace did exist between the two until Joshua upset the apple-cart with Whyte remarking to Sky Sports.com,
?We were alright but then he came back and started saying some more stuff so I flipped out and said ?this guy is a snake.
?I can?t trust this guy. I want to get in the ring, have another fight with this guy and settle this once and for all.?
Both boxers are in action before they meet, Joshua fights on September 12th whilst Whyte has been added to the bill at the Craven Park Stadium, Hull on August 1st.
Neither Whyte nor Joshua know who they?ll be fighting on those dates as they warm up for the big showdown.
It promises to be quite a build-up and quite a fight in prospect.
