The heavyweight division continues to dominate the news.
After the events in the US at the weekend, whereby Deontay Wilder held onto his WBC crown and Charles Martin captured the vacant IBF belt, it seems that the Brixton fighter, Dillian Whyte, wants to get back on the road to redemption.
Whyte, as we’re all perfectly aware, was knocked out by Anthony Joshua back in December, with Joshua finishing the fight with a perfect uppercut that laid Whyte flat on his back.
However, Whyte, having had a shoulder operation following that fight, is now looking to get back in the ring and is adamant that he wants another fight against the unbeaten Watford heavyweight prospect, hopefully around December time.
Whyte, who was nearly knocked out in a first round barrage from Joshua had his opponent in trouble in the second, but couldn’t finish his man off.
The Brixton fighter wants to make his return to the ring in May or June, against an opponent not yet known, before a return with Joshua,
However, you have to ask whether Joshua will have moved on a level or two by then and have no apparent interest in a return.
That’s the way the cookie crumbles in this sport of ours is it not?
