Last time out Dillian Whyte suffered a devastating seventh round knockout at the hands of Anthony Joshua.
Since that night Joshua has gone on to capture the IBF version of the heavyweight title whilst Whyte has been recuperating from a shoulder operation required to repair damage sustained in the rude bout with Joshua.
On Saturday, on the under-card of Joshua?s first defence of his IB crown, Whyte returns to the ring to try and kick-start his career again.
The 28-year-old Brixton heavyweight has been matched against the 34-year-old Croatian journeyman Ivica Bacurin who enters the ring with a record that reads – won 29, lost 9 and drawn 3 in thirty-five professional contests.
Talking about his comeback Whyte has remarked,
‘I’m fit and ready. The hardest part with any injury is the mental aspect. The plan is to knock this fella out on Saturday.?
But Whyte has bigger fish to fry and is already looking to a clash with the former world title challenger Dereck Chisora, further remarking,
‘I really want to fight Chisora in December. I want to get him in the ring and put a stop to his career.?
Now that would be far more entertaining than what?s lined up for Saturday night don?t you think!
