In his first bout since being brutally knocked out by Anthony Joshua in the seventh round last December and then going through surgery on his left shoulder, Brixton?s Dillian Whyte was matched against the Czech Republic?s Ivica Bacurin.

Whyte, out-weighing his opponent by over three stone, was never in trouble against Bacurin but had trouble getting close enough to hurt his opponent with Bacurin intent on survival.

However, the pure quantity of shots Whyte unleashed, as opposed to the quality, saw Bacurin finally succumb in the six and last round, when the fight was stopped.

As comeback fights go it was so-so and it remains to be seen whether Whyte can climb back up through the rankings.

Ahead of the fight there was talk of Whyte facing Dereck Chisora in his next fight but our opinion is that Whyte might need another tune-up fight to get back into the ring against a fighter who is still bordering on world-class.
