On the under-card of the Campbell v Coyle lightweight clash was a very intriguing heavyweight clash.

Appearing on a Matchroom card for the first time at a major show, the unbeaten Dillian Whyte was matched against the supposedly durable Brazilian fighter Inneu Costa.

Whyte, entering the ring with a 14-0 record and destined to take on another unbeaten British heavyweight, Anthony Joshua, towards the end of the year, took no time at all in despatching his Brazilian opponent.

Whyte, in the first round, had his opponent down twice before the fight was stopped. The first saw a clubbing punch catch the Brazilian on the side of his head and a second punch, following up, saw Costa hit the canvas.

Although the Brazilian bravely stumbled to his feet, the end was night, Whyte moved in throwing some heavy shots and with his opponent stunned those that connected saw the Brazilian stumble to the canvas again and Whyte had his 15th straight win of his professional career.

Whyte fights next on the September 12th, the same night that Anthony Joshua takes on Gary Cornish, if both emerge victorious they will meet towards the end of the year.

Could Dillian Whyte be to Anthony Joshua what James ?Bonecrusher? Smith was to Frank Bruno, or will Joshua cope admirably with the biggest hitter he?s yet to face?
