Could our own Amir Khan be set to face the legend that is Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Well that is what the Khan camp is insisting!

With Khan recently quoted in the media as having said,

?If I win my next fight [in December], it?s Floyd Mayweather fight. I?ve been guaranteed that. I?ve got one more obstacle to pass against Alexander and I?ll get Mayweather fight.?

Khan who is hoping to meet Devon Alexander in his next fight and claim the IBF welterweight title, reckons that he?s been told that a win will see a Floyd Mayweather Jr fight happen, mainly because it will then have credibility as a unification match-up.

But, with a deal not signed yet, Khan is also looking at an enticing catch-weight contest with Lucas Matthysse, in December, a fight that many feel is fraught with danger for a boxer that has 2 of his last 4 fights.

Khan, who has a record that stands at 28 wins and 3 defeats, is at the stage of his career whereby he craves the big fights, however, could he be craving a fight too far in meeting Floyd?

Your views on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
