Now that the re-match between Froch and Groves has been confirmed and a date agreed on, a venue needs to be sorted out.

Already football grounds such as the City Ground (Nottingham Forest). The Emirates Stadium (Arsenal), Old Trafford (Manchester United) and Stamford Bridge (Chelsea) are being mentioned, but would either be big enough to satisfy the anticipated demand for tickets?

The largest attendance for a post-World War II promotion was the 55,000 that watched Ricky Hatton take on Luan Lazcano at the City of Manchester Stadium in 2008.

However the promoter, Eddie Hearn is keen to eclipse that by hoping that 80,000 boxing fans will witness what is already being described as our own Hagler v Hearns equivalent.

Speaking, briefly, about his expectations audience wise, Hearn has remarked,

?I believe this is the biggest fight in British boxing history. I want to see how big we can make it.’

It?ll certainly be interesting to hear the announcement as to which venue is eventually chosen!
