The world is sitting and watching and waiting to see if those who run the various boxing bodies will strip Tyson Fury of his world titles.

Tyson, in a fragile state of mind and besieged by drug-taking suggestions, is unlikely to return to the ring for at least six months and having not boxed for almost a year, the authorities will be afraid of the WBA and WBO heavyweight divisions stagnating.

However, it would appear that the WBA are keen to give Tyson the chance to turn his life around with the WBA president Gilberto Mendoza quoted as having recently remarked,

‘Our main concern is what’s going on with the title and the whole situation that’s around him.

‘We will request our medical advisers to send him some kind of treatment for him that he shall follow.

‘We just started a process to give him the right to speak about the situation. We will follow the due process. I cannot say if we will strip him of the title, a yes or no, but the substance he took is a prohibitive substance that is against the rules and we have to take that into account.

‘That’s the big trouble for us, we always have to defend a clean sport.’

If it was just the mental issues we?re of the opinion that the authorities would be more considerate but the other issue, we feel, is sure to see Tyson Fury stripped of his belts.
