Could the September 28th promotion have been saved?

Harking back to the cancelled promotion of September 28th, a promotion that would have seen Tyson Fury and David Haye clash, I uncovered a snippet of information that might prove interesting.

According to our contacts across the pond, a certain Tony Thompson volunteered his services to take on Tyson Fury at short notice.

Thompson, as you might recall, has a fondness for dismantling rated British heavyweights having twice stopped David Price, in fights in Liverpool.

It seems that despite Fury?s boast that he is the best heavyweight on the planet, Thompson received no feedback relating to his rumoured offer!
