As I?ve already mentioned this week, Dereck Chisora is, in my opinion, in a situation where he needs to beat the unbeaten American, Scott Malik, this Saturday at Wembley Arena.

Chisora, who is, as we?ve come to expect, talking a good fight already, knows that a defeat against Scott would have serious consequences on his progress in the heavyweight ranks.

This point is something that Frank Warren has picked up on in the build-up to the contest with the wily promoter remarking ahead of the show on Saturday,

?If he loses, then we have to find somebody else for him to fight, someone he can beat and get some credibility back.?

?This is about credibility for Dereck, to show he belongs with the elite.?

?He certainly can?t afford a loss, he has to win, win, win all the way.?

But can Chisora defeat an American that although doesn?t, supposedly, punch that hard is a skilful operative at this level?

Well, here at Vital Boxing, we?re not sure. Chisora has the punch to take Scott out and if he concentrates on the job in hand then he may well be the fighter to end Scott?s unbeaten run.

But, and it is a big but, if Chisora comes into the ring believing his own hype, he could be in for a short, sharp shock and all those fears Frank Warren has expressed will be staring up at him from the back pages of the press come Sunday morning!
