On Friday night, as we reported over the weekend, Ovill McKenzie came so close to winning the IBF cruiserweight title.
With just eleven days? notice, McKenzie not only took the fight but took it in the Champions? backyard in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The official decision was a majority draw in favour of the champion, Victor Ramirez, which many thought was scant reward for the effort McKenzie put in.
However, it seems that Frank Warren is determined to get McKenzie a re-match with the promoter remarking in the press,
?It was an exceptional performance from McKenzie. I think he well won the fight and did more than Ramirez.
?He only came into the fight with 11 days? notice, but gave it everything.
?I will write to the IBF about an immediate re-match which I believe is only fair.?
It is, and make the champion get his backside over to the United Kingdom
