For the past few years, Eddie Hearn and his Matchroom team have been at the fore-front of televised Boxing, with many a show broadcast live on Sky Sports or via Sky?s Box Office facility.
But things could be set to change!
Having muscled in on Premier League football it would appear that BT Sport are keen to get into the Boxing market.
The relatively new station has struck a deal with Frank Warren for 20 Frank Warren promotions to be shown on a Saturday night, starting in 2017.
These shows will also be available on Frank?s Box Nation station but will give the promoter the impetus to establish himself as the #1 promoter in the UK, like he was before Eddie ushered in a new era.
It?s believed the money from the deal will enable Warren to boost his current stable of boxers, which currently includes Billy Joe Saunders and Terry Flanagan, both reigning world champions.
Talking about the deal Warren has confirmed,
?We will recruit more fighters. We are looking for the best.?
These are exciting times ahead for fight fans, hang on and enjoy the ride!
