It looks like the UK isn?t on Ward?s agenda.
Yesterday, with the WBA having decreed that Carl Froch must defend his WBA super-middleweight title within 90 days against the American fighter, Andre Ward, the Nottingham fighter had a few words to say.
Froch?s belief was that as he?d fought Ward in the US last time around then it was Ward?s turn to fight him in the United Kingdom.
Word had it that Froch has ideas of staging the bout at his beloved Nottingham Forest?s football ground.
However, Ward has responded to Froch?s words with a few of his own pouring doubt on the insinuation that he must come to the UK, by remarking,
‘Looks like Frochy Froch remembered my name all of a sudden. That’s good to know. Looks like the old man is still kicking.
‘Froch could have gotten this fight years ago, but it took the WBA mandating the fight for him to step up. SMH. This guy. If this fight does happen, Froch is not dictating anything. He must have fell a bumped his head.’
Can anyone see this fight actually happening?
I seriously have my doubts.
Ward Taunts Froch!
