One British fighter everyone is keeping an eye on is Liam Walsh.
The general feeling is that the talented Wash, who now sports a record that reads 20-0-1 with 10 of those wins coming via knockout, could go all the way and become a world title holder.
Ranked #3 by the WBO, the junior middleweight champion is scheduled to box on the under-card of the Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders promotion at the Manchester Arena on October 10th.
Walsh was originally pencilled in to face the #2 WBO contender Michel Soro, however that fight has fallen through and Walsh is now set to meet the #5 WBO contender John Thompson.
However the general consensus amongst the boxing pundits is that Thompson, a hugely talented fighter, could represent a far bigger challenge. Currently Thompson?s record stands at 17-1 with 6 knockouts to his name.
His record would suggest that he is more of a talented boxer than big-puncher which points towards the a fascinating fight where Walsh will have the perfect opportunity to show that he deserves his high ranking and is on the verge of the world title fight he?s looking for.
