News filtered through yesterday that Tyson Fury has vacated one of the belts he holds.

As Fury awaits his clash with Wladimir Klitschko, a clash for which no date or a venue has yet to be ear-marked, the unbeaten heavyweight has decided to concentrate on his bigger ambition of achieving world title glory rather than defend the EBU heavyweight title he holds.

With The EBU title now vacant it appears that it will be contested by Erkan Teper and the next highest available challenger.

The list of possible opponents for Teper includes two British fighters in Anthony Joshua and David Price whilst possible opponents from mainland Europe include ? Alexander Povetkin, Artur Szpilka, Alexander Ustinov and Denis Boystov.

Could this be the ideal opportunity for David Price to be propelled back into the limelight or will Eddie Hearn see this as a good stepping stone for the highly fancied and unbeaten Anthony Joshua?
