After the events of recent weeks whereby Tyson Fury has pulled out of a re-match for a second occasion, citing mental issues as the reason, and then being involved in a cocaine taking admission, it was only ever going to be a case of when, not if, he was going to be stripped of his coveted belts.

Now whilst the WBA seem to be genuinely concerned for Tyson?s well-being it seems that the WBO are set to be more robust.

Our understanding is that the WBO have given Rooney 10 days to reply to a letter he has been sent explaining the title should not be vacated because of:

? Inactivity

? Breach of contract

and

? Performance enhancing drugs.

It seems that the WBO have already decided to strip Fury of their belt and are just going through the motions.

A vacant belt would, the WBO obviously feel, re-ignite the division instead of leaving it stagnating whilst Tyson gets to grip with his life.
