As we wait for an announcement relating to a date and venue for the re-match between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko, is there a chance it might not happen?
After ripping the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles off the long reigning champion, it seems that Tyson Fury is having trouble getting up for the re-match.
Talking to the media, Tyson is quoted as having remarked,
‘I’m struggling to get motivated.
‘I could walk away. I could just sail into the sunset unbeaten with all the belts and live a normal life.’
‘All that I would be boxing for is money and I always thought to myself I never want to let sport become about money.’
Tyson also opened up about cementing a legacy or unifying the belts, further adding,
‘I’ve accomplished a dream.
‘It’s about how much motivation I have to keep going on.
‘There is life after boxing and I don’t know what I’m going to do at the moment. I haven’t even cemented I am going to fight in a rematch.’
It all sounds worrying to me, almost as if after winning the titles the Gypsy King wants to melt into the background for a quiet life.
