Speculation has been increasing in recent weeks inferring that Tyson Fury was set to announce a return to the ring.

After being absent from the ring since he wrenched the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight world tittles off Wladimir Klitschko, in Dusseldorf, in November 2015, Fury has worked hard to shed the excessive weight he?d put on during his lengthy sojourn from the ring.

Still just 29-years-of-age, young for a heavyweight, Fury?s team have announced that his ring return will take place on 9 June, in Manchester.

However, no opponent has been announced at the time of writing.

Fury, who has a penchant for speaking his mind, had this to say about his comeback, remarking at the press conference held to announce his return,

‘I can’t wait to get in there and prove I am the best even after all this time out.

‘I’m coming into the prime of my life now. I’m stronger, faster, more confident. Looking at the competition out there, it should be relatively easy.’

With the division being dominated, currently, by Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, it remains to be seen if Tyson Fury can make the impact he promises.

But, being out of action and having had to shed so much weight, questions are also being asked as to whether the Gypsy King will return with all his old attributes or whether he?ll be a shadow of his former self.
