It seems an eternity since Amir Khan last fought although in all honesty it probably isn’t!

Deprived of a multi-million contest against Floyd Mayweather Junior and now, seemingly being lined up for an all-British showdown against the new IBF champion Kell Brook, next spring or autumn, it remains to be seen who the Bolton fighter decides to fight in the interim.

If he?s looking for a very creditable opponent then Khan could do worse that respond to Keith Thurman who has called him out and wants to fight Khan before the end of the year.

On paper it looks a very enticing fight with Thurman, with a record of 23-0 with 21 by way of knockout, installed as the ?interim? WBA welterweight champion bringing a belt to the table.

Now whether Khan will accept the gauntlet thrown down by Thurman remains to be seen, but it would appear that Thurman doesn?t intend to hang on for too long as he?s also mentioned tackling Manuel Marquez.

So how about it Amir, start mixing it with the big-boys again and then show Kell Brook who is the best welterweight this country has!
