Saturday night was a good night for Terry Flanagan.

The British lightweight champion not only grabbed another belt but secured a world title shot.

Matched against Stephen Ormond, from Ireland, Flanagan took the European crown after the Irish fighter was disqualified for head-butting.

Whist probably not the way in which Flanagan would have liked to have grabbed the belt, the fight was a world title eliminator and with the WBO lightweight title currently vacant, after the previous champion Terence Crawford decided to move up a weight, Flanagan is expected to be matched against either Juan Diaz or Takhiro Ao in the summer.
