Across the pond last night, in the US, there were two world title super-flyweight fights that our own Kal Yafai would have been interested in.

Yafai, who holds the WBA super-flyweight belt and who defends it on the under-card of the Joshua v Pulev promotion, in Cardiff, would have been interested to see how Sriskaet Sor Rungvisai and Naoye Inoue would have fared in their respective world super-flyweight title defences.

Thailand?s Srisaket Sor Rungvisia was defending his WBC super-flyweight title against Roman Gonzalez, from Nicaragua

The two had fought before with Rungvisia getting a majority decision, but last night, in the US, the result was far more conclusive with Gonzalez being stopped in round four after being floored twice.

After the fight, Rungvisai had this to say,

‘This fight I knew I was going to knock him out.?

On the same bill, Inoue made a defence of his WBO world super-flyweight title, taking on the American challenger Antonio Nieves. Inuoe also made a successful defence of his strap knocking out the challenger.

Interesting times in the super-flyweight division coming up it would seem.
