Every so often a fight comes along that doesn?t make your mouth just water but the mere thought of it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stick up.
One such fight is drawing closer by the day.
On November 19th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, a light-heavyweight clash between the IBF / WBA / WBC champion Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward takes place.
Both fighters are world-class operators with Kovalev having a record that reads 30-0-1 with 26 of those wins coming by knockout whilst Ward has a record that reads 30-0 with 15 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
The clash has definitely caught the eye of the boxing punters in the US with an astonishing 9,500 of the 17,500 tickets available sold in the first thirty-six hours.
But what makes those figures even more interesting is that all those tickets were sold to members of the public and not to ticket brokers with Dan Rafael confirming via a social network posting,
?In 1st 36 hours of tickets on sale for Kovalev-Ward about 9,500 of 17,500 available were sold. Glad to see fans responding to a great match,?
?And to clarify on the Kovalev-Ward tickets ? they are sold to public, not brokers/consignments. #boxing.?
It promises to be a great night and at the moment I?m leaning toward a Kovalev win based on the fighter having been the more active in recent times.
