All is quiet on the domestic front this weekend but the action heats-up next weekend when Carl Frampton takes on Kiki Martinez, in Belfast, for the IBF super-bantamweight crown.
The fight is supposed to be a prelude for an all-British tear-up with Frampton then clashing with Scott Quigg who currently holds the WBA version of the same crown.
However, with Quigg fighting in two weeks? time, against Stephane Jamoye, the Bury fighter is only too aware that if either fighter has any slip-ups the mega-fight will not occur.
Speaking about the situation, Quigg has remarked,
?If he (Frampton) loses this fight all the hype, the anticipation, everything will go down the pan. We have to both stay unbeaten and both bring a world title to the table.?
?The timing would be perfect for it then ? and if they turned it down hen, it would show everyone they don?t actually want to fight me.?
Frampton has a hard task facing Martinez but he?ll be confident having beaten him before and as for avoiding a showdown with Quigg, somehow I doubt that is in his thoughts!
