The fighting Smith family, from Liverpool, could soon have a second world champion in their midst.
It has been announced that Stephen Smith will be fighting for the IBF super-featherweight title against the champion Jose Pedraza.
The fight will take place in New York, on March 26th, after the managements of both fighters agreed on the fight, ahead of the deadline for purse bids.
Smith, who has a record that reads 23-1 with 13 wins coming by way of knockout achieved his #1 IBF status with a recent win over Devis Boschiero, in a fight that Smith won by a sixth round knockout and a fight that had a mandatory label attached to it.
The fight, in New York promises to be a tough one for Smith with the champion having a record that reads 21-0 with 12 wins coming by way of knockout.
Can Stephen Smith follow the example set by his brother and become the second world champion of the four fighting brothers?
That remains to be seen.
