It was hoped that when Tyson Fury finally gets to fulfil his status as the mandatory challenger for the WBO heavyweight title held by Wladimir Klitschko, the fight would take place in the UK.
Klitschko had even heavily hinted it would be a privilege to fight in the United Kingdom.
The plan was that the fight would be staged at a London football ground, in October, thereby enabling a huge crowd to generate huge funds to entice the champion to defend here.
The favourite ground to stage the fight was Stamford Bridge, a stadium that seats 44,000 and a venue fit for such a showdown.
Unfortunately Chelsea?s manager has kyboshed such a suggestion implying that there is no way he?s prepared to let the pitch of the current Premier League champions be ruined by the equipment needed, on the pitch, to support such a big-fight.
With the Rugby World Cup also removing several other options, with regards to stadia, from the agenda, it is now looking as if Tyson Fury could be forced to fight Wladimir in his favoured territory of Germany, sparking Tyson?s promoter, Mick Hennessey to remark,
?It?s difficult to get venues in the UK around that time because of the Rugby Wold Cup and the football season.?
If Tyson is forced to take a fight with Wladimir, in Germany, in my opinion it makes his task that much harder.
