Any plans Carl Froch had of taking on his mandatory challenger, George Groves, next year have been ended by the IBF.

Those that run the IBF have decreed that they would strip Froch of his IBF super-middleweight title if he didn?t defend against Groves this year.

With Froch not prepared to voluntarily give up any of his hard-earned belts it is being intimated that plans to fight Groves next year have been brought forward so that the two pugilists will take on each other this year with a date of November 23rd being suggested, with the fight being shown on Sky Sports.

To us, it?s good news for Groves that he is getting what a mandatory challenger deserves and to have an all-British world title fight, presumably on home-soil, can only be good for us Boxing aficionados.
