Brook and Porter have their say.

In what was a controversial decision, in the eyes of some, in Carson, Los Angeles, whereby Kell Brook took a majority decision over the IBF welterweight champion, both boxers, naturally, had differing opinions.

With the judges scoring the bout:-

? 114-114 (draw)
? 117-111 (in favour of Brook)
? 116-112 (in favour of Brook)

The new IBF welterweight champion of the world remarked,

?I?m the top dog in England. Everyone thought I was going to come over here and get knocked out. You?re going to see me in some mega fights. I?m the champion. Top fighters like Floyd Mayweather Jr I welcome that fight.?

A bit too enthusiastic for me, but understandable, in trying to call out Floyd Mayweather Jr, Kell Brook has truly arrived on the world stage.

As for the beaten champion, the bar-room brawler Shawn Porter, he had this to say,

?I don?t think he beat the champion tonight. He took my belt tonight. I want the rematch. I?ll go back to back to the drawing board.?

Now whether there was a re-match clause in the contract remains to be seen, but if there is I suspect Brook?s camp will make Porter drag his backside across the Atlantic to England!
