With Paul Smith?s second attempt at wrestling the WBO super-middleweight title from Arthur Abraham fast approaching, the war of words from the Smith camp appears to have reached a peak.

Smith was given a second chance of taking on Abraham after the judges wildly inaccurate scoring of the first fight produced uproar.

Abraham, a classy operative, has already suggested that he?ll make sure there?s no mistake this time around but Smith?s camp believe that brief flirtation with greatness last time out will see the Liverpool fighter step up a notch to grab what he believes is attainable.

As you?d expect his promoter, Eddie Hearn, has had a few words to say about his mans? chances remarking to the media ahead of the bout in Berlin,

?The first fight was very, very close.

?I think you are going to see a different fight this time. Now he [Smith] knows that he can be a world champion by beating Arthur Abraham. This is Paul Smith?s time to win a world title and everybody believes it?s going to happen.?

Positive words from Eddie and they?re words backed up by a very confident champion with Smith adding,

?I believe I?m at my best. I?ve improved since the first fight.

?I believe I handled well last time and I?ll handle it even better this time.?

The nerves relating to such a big event shouldn?t be so bad this time around but I?m still to be convinced that Smith can raise his game and also do enough to get a verdict in Berlin.

How about you?
