At the Liverpool Arena tonight, Callum Smith has a wonderful opportunity to take a step nearer to a world title fight.

Smith, the #1 WBC contender is matched against the current EBU super-middleweight champion Hallidah Mohoumadi.

Mohoumadi is currently rated #6 by the WBC and his fight record, which reads 20-3-1 with 15 wins coming by way of knockout, suggests he could hang around against Smith, who has a record that reads 18-0 with 13 wins coming by knockout.

The winner is scheduled to meet the current WBC super-bantamweight champion Badou Jack in the not too distant future and at the weigh-in Smith tipped the scales at 167.5 pounds.

Here at Vital Boxing we wish Smith all the best tonight and we reckon he?ll stop his man around the fifth round mark and get the world title fight his status deserves.
