Over in Germany this Saturday, at the Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Paul Smith faces the biggest challenge of his career.

The Liverpool fighter, who has a record that reads 35-3 with 20 by way of knockout, will be taking on the highly respected WBO super-middleweight champion, Arthur Abraham, who has a record that reads 404 with 28 by way of knockout.

Abraham, so it is said has a cast-iron chin and not even the likes of Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward could take him out.

Therefore, with Smith not being classified as the heaviest of punchers the Liverpool fighter is going to have to out-box the champion and hope a home-town verdict doesn?t deprive him of a, hopefully, well deserved win.

But Smith remains confident he can upset the applecart and ahead of the contest he?s spoken about how Carl Froch has shown him how to win, remarking,

?Carl Froch has shown how to beat him but Carl fights the way he does and I fight the way I do.?

?Andre Ward did it differently to Carl Froch. I think the jab is going to be key in the fight and I can match anyone with my jab. I?ve got to keep off-setting him with that.?

If that is Smith?s plan it is going to be a gruelling night and if Smith can keep Abraham at bay for twelve rounds he?ll have done something I?m not sure he?s capable off, but we?ll see!
