Later this month the Liverpool fighter, Paul Smith, gets his chance to grasp world title glory.

Smith, the #5 WBO challenger for the super-middleweight crown, will be trying to achieve his world title ambitions the hard way by taking on the champion, Arthur Abraham, in hi o wn backyard.

The fight, scheduled for 27th September, will see Smith venture to the Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, in Germany.

Smith will arrive in Germany with a record that reads 35-3 with 20 coming by way of knockout, whilst the champion will enter the ring with a record that reads 40-4 with 28 wins coming by way of knockout.

It?s said that Abraham is the weakest of the current super-middleweight champions, but the odds are still stacked against Smith, points decisions are notoriously difficult to get on mainland Europe and Smith will have to be on top of his game to pull this one off and add his name to our growing list of world title holders.

Naturally, Abraham is confident of holding onto his crown and ahead of the end of September date has promised to prevent Smith from taking the belt back to England, speaking about Smith?s hopes,

?He can forget that.?

?The belt and title will naturally stay with me in Germany!?

That may be the case, but you just never know. A fired up Smith just might shock those expecting Abraham to quell the desire and fight Smith will bring to the arena.
