Recently, on Sky Sports excellent Ringside programme, the Liverpool super-middleweight Paul Smith indicated that a deal was very close to being signed for him to fight the WBO champion Arthur Abraham.

Smith, ranked #5 by the WBO, has indeed gotten his chance to fight for the WBO crown with it being announced that he will take on Abraham on 27th September, in Kiel.

Abraham, with a record that reads 40-4 with 28 by way of knockout, will be making a voluntary defence against Smith who has a record of 35-3 with 20 by way of knockout.

On Ringside 31 year-old Smith spoke eloquently about what getting a world title shot would mean to him, Smith now has the chance to deliver!

One Reply to “Smith Gets His World Title Chance!”

  • Smith will be the underdog but I believe this fight is winnable. What a division the Super Middleweight currently is. Potential for 3 different British World Title holders by Early 2015 with George Groves lining up the WBC belt. Plus Callum Smith and Fielding are progressing well
