With the Edie Hearn promoted show, at Wembley Stadium, set to pull in 80,000 punters to see Carl Froch and George Groves go head-to-head again, a small spanner has been thrown into the works.

The weigh-in, for the big fight, is scheduled to take place the day before the big-fight, however with England entertaining Peru, in a friendly international that day, Wembley Stadium cannot be used. Therefore the plan, so we?re led to believe, was to hold it at the nearby Wembley Arena.

However, that plan appears to have hit a major obstacle with pop-star Prince set to play a one-off gig at the Arena that night. It is being suggested that the weigh0in will now have to take place outside the Great Hall, something that hasn?t, so we?re told, gone down well with those behind the promotion with a Wembley insider being quoted in the media as having remarked,

?It?s fair to say the boxing people are not pleased. But to have boxers inside with a large section of media would have caused all sorts of logistical problems.?

Here at Vital Boxing we feel its shoddy treatment being handed out to the Matchroom team especially when you consider the revenue 80,000 boxing fans have poured into the financial kitty!
