The news that broke earlier this week, relating to a showdown between Tyson Fury and David Haye, had everybody licking their lips in anticipation.

The fight, if it were to get the go-ahead, would pitch a former world champion against somebody who aspires to reach that dizzy height.

Well it transpires that the talk of such a fight is fast moving on and that it is now being reported that the Manchester Arena has been booked, provisionally, for 28th September.

Talking about taking on Fury, Haye?s keenness suggests it is a fight that will happen with Haye quoted in the morning press as having remarked,

?If my manager and trainer Adam Booth can set this up, I will knock him down.?

Now that may be the case, I?ve often watched Fury?s fights and thought that his physique, with those spindly legs, could be his undoing but, then again, we all know one perfect punch from the younger man could put an end to Haye?s dreams of making it back to the top of the heavyweight tree.

That, I suppose, is what makes this fight such an eagerly awaited one, if the deal can be done.
