At the O2 Arena tonight, in London, Lee Selby tops the bill.
Selby, the current British and Commonwealth champion will be taking on the Australian fighter Joel Brunker.
The bout is billed as the final eliminator for the chance to share the ring with the IBF featherweight king, Evgeny Gradovich.
Selby?s opponent, Brunker, arrives on these shores unbeaten and could provide Selby with his stiffest test yet.
In order to progress his career and move towards a world title fight, Selby gave up the European featherweight title he held and the 27 year-old had this to say ahead of what could lead to the biggest night of his life,
‘That’s what I am in the game for, to become a world champion.?
‘IBF, WBC, it doesn’t matter to me which one I win.?
‘They are all World titles and these days no one title is outstanding, they are all important and valuable.’
And with regards to his opponent, an opponent he found himself sparring with in Las Vegas a couple of years ago, Selby added,
‘Joel is a tough customer, he has power in both hands and is the real deal so this is the time for me to prove I can get to the top and stay there.?
‘I believe that on my day I can beat anyone.?
‘If I can take my best into the ring, I don’t think there’s a featherweight out there that can live with me.?
‘This is the one to see if I really am a good fighter or I’m over-hyped like some people have been saying.’
Here at Vital Boxing we don?t believe you?re over-hyped Lee, we reckon that although Brunker hasn?t tasted defeat in 27 fights, tonight will be the first time.
