After travelling to Las Vegas to fight on the under-card of the Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton re-match, only to see his fight called off, Lee Selby is finally set to face the opponent he should have faced on that occasion, Jonathan Victor Barros.

In Vegas the Nevada State Commission declared, for reasons unknown, Barros was unfit to fight.

However, the IBF has now decreed that Selby must defend his IBF featherweight title against Barros with the fight going to purse bids on 13th April.

The fight must then take place within 90 days of the purse bids.

Selby will be making his first defence of the title since beating Eric Hunter back in April 2016.

After his fight in Vegas, against Barros fell through, Selby was given special dispensation to have a non-title fight, against Andoni Gago on the under-card of the Haye v Bellew heavyweight contest.

Once further details are forthcoming we will report back further.
